September 10 – World Suicide Prevention Day

World Suicide Prevention Day – The international date, which is celebrated around the planet every year on September 10th, since 2003, with the goal of promoting suicide prevention activities worldwide. World Suicide Prevention Day began on the initiative of the International Association for the Prevention of Suicide, with the active support of the World Health Organization and under the patronage of the United Nations. According to WHO statistics, in the third millennium more people die from suicide than from all the wars and violent killings combined. In order to inform the population on the issues of strengthening and preserving mental health, as well as providing qualified assistance for mental disorders related to violence, crisis situations, alcohol, drugs, etc., information and educational events are organized in all administrative territories of the Brest region. In the city of Brest

  • September 10-14 from 8.00 to 16.00 on the basis of the Brest Regional Psychoneurological Dispensary (Sovetskaya St., 13) Days of open information and counseling on problematic issues are organized;
  • September 8, 10, from 2 pm to 5 pm, consultations of psychologists are held on the basis of the Brest Regional Center for Ecological Research and Education (Svobody Square, 8, room 4);
  • September 6, 7, 10 from 9.00 to 12.00 hotline telephone 8 (0162) 21-86-64 is working.
